February 24

Probably the excitement of the day will be the food delivery, but before that there was a chance to walk around the garden.

The primroses took a battering during the snow and ice, but they are surviving. The daffodil stands proud waiting for St David’s day. The camellia is always stunning. It will last a while longer yet. As for the snowdrops – they just keep flowering. The Bergenia has begun – it will flower into the autumn as will the Pulmonaria. All the hyacinths are coming through but this pink one is already set to flower. And finally – the glossy leaved Mahonia will be presenting its yellow offerings before long too.
