June 17

It rained overnight and for much of the morning.

The rose tree was well and truly battered.

Grey skies all day, but a dry afternoon.

Sent a stack of granny squares to Wiltshire as part of a communal gift for a birthday next week.

Rain returned in the evening but, as you can see from the last two colours above .. the temperatures didn’t drop.

The clouds soon evaporated and the temperature rose.

The standard rose is in good form. Most of these blooms will be gone if the weather turns and tomorrow brings storms tomorrow.

The honeysuckle is beginning to flower, it’s almost covering the lilac. Have to be honest – I prefer the honeysuckle!

Difficult to spot, but the blackbird sang from the Rowan this morning.

What fun! Nothing to do with me, but an adornment in Devizes in Wiltshire.

Here the temperature rose to the highest of the year so far.

The roses continue to bloom

And the Philadelphus flowers above the apple tree

Tonight the blackbird serenades in spite of the news that lockdown will be extended!
